Camelia's Candles recycles a wax to keep it from going into the landfills. In partnership with Value Village and our wonderful customers we have saved over 52 tons of wax in 9 years. Part of the reason this conservation effort is so important is because waxes like paraffin are byproducts of making petroleum and can take decades or longer to break down in a landfill, especially if there are no wax worms in the area.
Our process: First wax is collected from our partner and customers or other people who wish to recycle their unwanted or scrap wax. From that point we separate it based on color, type of wax, and scent. After it's been separated we melt down the wax in batches of roughly 100lbs at a time and filter out as much of the impurities as possible as we put it into 1lb blocks for sale purposes.
If you would like to recycle your unwanted, scrap, or partially used wax feel free to message us. If you are in the local area it is possible to set up a pick up or drop off appointment with the owner Camelia. If you would like to just drop it off our main office location is at 733 S. Main St. Lebanon, Oregon 97355. The hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10am to 6pm.
